A Micro-pond & Tumbling Stream
A Client in Sherborne, Dorset, searched for a long time to find the right company, several pond builders had been out but only providing an off the shelf style preformed water feature, this was not what was wished for at all.
The client, a keen horticulturist, has a beautifully designed garden featuring various areas from a lush lavender patio to scrumptiously raised vegetable bed. The pressure was on to create a bespoke water feature to fit into this unique space. The client drew inspiration from multiple visits to show gardens and French chateaus. The space to be used was the problem area for the client, not much would grow or be successful there, and a woodland themed water feature was desired.
After much discussion DU Waterscapes had the ideal water feature in mind to complement the small space but provide maximum effect. The water feature would consist of a micro pond to encourage the much loved wildlife to the area and the peaceful sound of water created by a small stream heading in the corner of the plot before babbling and winding slowly down into the wildlife pond.
To enhance the pond and water feature furthermore, DU Waterscapes have a few little
techniques up their sleeves; various mosses along with a piece of bog wood were added to provide a already naturalising woodland water feature. The client was over the moon with the attention to detail. As the client was a keen gardener they wanting to do the terrestrial planting, DU Waterscapes endeavour to provide ideas and advice on plants that will not only enhance the space but provide all year colour and interest.
The little cascading stream brought much needed life to the area with the tranquil sound of water, slowly meandering over the once unproductive area of the garden. The newly created wildlife sanctuary was finished off with some beautiful aquatic plants that truly complemented the gradual fall.
